“I am thrilled to see Destination Bryan and Bryan, Texas receive five awards in the 2022 Texas Travel Awards.” said John Friebele, Executive Director of Destination Bryan. “In addition to having the best Mid Mark hotel & restaurant – The Stella Hotel and Ronin Farm & Restaurant – the other three awards highlight a few of the aspects that make Bryan a unique destination. Our community is filled with authentic stories, people, and places and it’s an honor to highlight these through the awarded Bryan Legends marketing campaign. And while Destination Bryan is the current organizer of First Friday and we continue to find new ways to improve the event and engage with the community, this award is just as much a tribute to the efforts of those who started it more than 15 years ago, namely Greta Watkins, and others who have organized it over the years. Finally, the Bryan Taco Trail highlights a small part of the amazing food scene we have in Bryan and the more than 40 restaurants on the trail are all a part of this award. Most importantly, these awards highlight the tremendous work by my entire staff and this is truly a testament to their hard work and ongoing efforts. We all look forward to continuing to promote Bryan to residents and visitors as a special place to experience.”
The Stella Hotel has set a tradition as one of Texas’ best hotels continues, ranking #12 in the 2021 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, following a #3 ranking in 2020, and now this from Texas Travel Awards. In 2022, The Stella joined the Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels, making it the ninth Autograph Collection Hotel in Texas and one of only 237 worldwide. The Stella is managed by Noble House Hotels & Resorts.
“We are extremely proud of being named the top hotel in Texas in our category,” explains Sheila Sandoval, General Manager. “Our focus has always been to offer our guests a memorable hotel stay, complete with great dining and impeccable service. Winning this honor is the direct result of our incredible team who always go above and beyond to make sure our guests have the best experience possible.”
Ronin Farm & Restaurant features family farm cuisine with a constantly evolving menu. Set in the beautiful, renovated historic Ice House on Main in Downtown Bryan, their restaurant shares an open-air kitchen with the dining room, floor-to-ceiling exposed brick, and hand-built suspension tables made using wood salvaged during renovation from the original office flooring. Ronin’s farm is located just south of Lake Bryan and serves as an event venue as well as the center of their food production.
“Ronin Farm & Restaurant is thrilled and honored to be included in these awards!” said Amanda Light, co-founder of Ronin. “Bryan is a place centered around community, which we couldn’t be more grateful to be a small part of. Thank you for the recognition!”
The Texas Travel Awards were voted on by a panel of judges of hospitality industry advocates including travel writers, Texas media personalities, and musicians.
