Girls & Boys Club of the Brazos Valley, would like to invite all families, supporters, and members of the community to attend the grand opening ribbon cutting and block party on Friday, June 3rd from 10:00am-4:00pm. The event will celebrate the official opening of the brand new Newman-Adam Bryan Campus. The Boys & Girls Club Newman-Adam Bryan Campus has been serving members in the new building since February 22, 2022 but wanted to ensure its most important stakeholders, their members, had an opportunity to get settled in before hosting this important event.
Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting & Block Party This fun and festive day long event will take place on Friday, June 3rd from 10:00am-4:00pm at the Newman-Adam Bryan Campus located at 1910 Beck Street. The public is encouraged to stop by anytime during the day or start their First Friday evening early and come take part in the fun at the club! The event will include the following:
● Tours & Brunch from 10:00am-11:30am sponsored by Snooze A.M. Eatery
● Official Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 11:00am
● Games & Informational Tables hosted by community partners such as Bryan ISD, Brazos
County Health District, Project Unity, BCBS, MHMR, BVCASA, Physicians Premier ER,
GearUp & more!
● Bounce Houses for all ages
● Three-point shootout and free throw contest starting at 12:00pm
● Dodgeball games by age starting at 2:00pm
● Food sold on site by JLM Chicken & Waffles food truck, Taqueria Cielito Lindo food truck
& Nana’s Special Baked Potatoes.
● Kona Ice sno-cones available for purchase from 3:00pm-4:00pm
CEO Rhonda Watson also states that big things are on the horizon for the Boys & Girls Clubs as they kick off their summer programs starting June 6th, “Our summer program will feature some unique opportunities such as art classes offered 4 days a week by a local art teacher Mark Hartfield, acting classes provided by Nikki Pederson, music programs, and academic enrichment activities & sports & recreation.” Though the summer programs are at capacity the public is invited to come learn more about the club’s after-school programs and athletic programs such as summer Track & Field along with Football & Volleyball planned to be offered fall.
The Girls & Boys Club of the Brazos Valley would also like to give a special thanks and acknowledgement to Mr. & Ms. Don Adam, Louis M. Newman Jr., architect Jim Singleton of SZH Architecture, Madison Construction and countless other donors and community supporters who invested their time, talents and resources to ensure the lives of local youth can continue to be enriched by the programs and opportunities offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley is to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders of our community and nation.
