The Arts Council of Brazos Valley has joined the national Artists Sunday Movement to bolster art sales and support the livelihoods of millions of U.S. artists, artisans and craftspeople.
.
Artists Sunday will premiere November 29, 2020 and aims to make the Sunday after Thanksgiving the most profitable day of the year for artists. More than 100 local arts agencies, cities, states, counties, and nonprofit organizations, representing thousands of artists across the country, have already joined the nationwide alliance. Additionally, more than 500 artists, artisans, and craftspeople have signed up directly, with more joining daily.
.
The Arts Council has joined this campaign to increase the number of participating artists and organizations prior to Nov. 29, as well as reaching beyond traditional art buyers to attract new customers across the country. We hope to encourage Brazos Valley creatives to join this nationwide movement and look forward to further supporting artist livelihoods!
.
To celebrate, the Arts Council will be opening our doors November 29th from 1-4 with our Artists in Residence. This will be done as a personal commitment to supporting the arts and in hopes it will garner interest in the broader movement.
.
How to Participate:
Artists, artisans, and craftspeople can sign up for a free listing in the Artists Sunday directory, which helps consumers find artists by name, type of work and city, state and country. Links to each artist’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts are included in the listings.
.
Participating artists get access to a comprehensive toolkit that offers up advice and templates to support marketing, and public relations efforts, as well as e-commerce tips to improve and accelerate the sales process.
.
Non-commercial organizations that support artists are also welcome to join the Artists Sunday Partners program for free. Qualifying organizations include local arts districts, state agencies, counties, chambers of commerce, national organizations, associations, municipalities, and non-profit community groups across the country.
