Promoting Positive Body Image + Eating Disorder Awareness
The signature Scale Smash will take place at Aggie Park from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where the public can smash scales and participate in other activities to let go of the things weighing them down. Southern Smash Program Director and Texas A&M Alumna, Amy Sullivan, will share her story of eating disorder recovery at SmashTALK: Texas A&M in the Bethancourt Ballroom (MSC 2300D) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. alongside other panelists.
Sullivan mentions that, “The panel discussion is great for those in the medical or mental health field to learn about eating disorders, along with those struggling with an eating disorder or body image and their loved ones.”
Southern Smash aims to educate the public about the dangers of eating disorders, while empowering women and men to celebrate and embrace true beauty and self-love by physically smashing scales. Southern Smash: Texas A&M is possible thanks to their sponsors, Eating Recovery Center and the Telehealth Counseling Clinic.
